Bali is listed as "Denpasar" (DPS) which is the name of the island's capital. For some of you who live on the other side of the world flying to Bali can be an adventure in itself.

Most airlines service their gateway in Asia and then, after a short connection or overnight stay, continue on to Bali. Since most of you are traveling a long distance to Bali it is recommend to explore the gateway destination you may be connecting in for a couple of days. Unless, of course, your time is limited and Bali calls. For the lucky ones who live closer to Bali it is only a few hours flight right into the emerald isle.

Bali's International Airport is actually located in Tuban - Kuta but is listed with the airlines under the islands capital city's name Denpasar or DPS. There are a number of major airlines that service Bali.

There are many flights to Bali International Airport leaving from the major airports in the world. Depending where you're coming from it can take just a couple of hours or a tour around the world. You can fly with Singapore Airlines, British Airways, Qantas, KLM, China Airlines, Malaysian Airways and Asian airlines.

Unfortunately there are no direct flights to Bali from Europe. If you’re coming from Amsterdam the fastest option for you is to take KLM with a short petrol stop in Singapore before flying with the same aircraft to Denpasar.

When you fly from London Heathrow to Bali with Singapore Airlines, British Airways or their code-sharing partner Qantas you will transit at Changi Airport, Singapore where you will continue your last flight to Bali with Singapore Airlines.

When you're leaving from Australia to Bali there are a couple of airlines with direct flights. Closest Australian city to Bali is Darwin with flights operated by Jetstar Airways/Qantas.

From the USA there are a couple of choices but again no direct flights to Bali. From Los Angeles the quickest option is to take Singapore Airlines to Singapore and then transfer on Garuda Indonesia for the last stretch to Bali. When you depart from San Francisco your fastest option would be to fly through Taipei with Delta Airlines (operated by China Airlines) and then take China Airlines to Bali. When you fly from New York to Bali your fastest route is to fly to Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific or American Airlines and then transfer on a flight with Hong Kong Express Airways to Bali.
